About
About BoatOnline.net
A buyer's toolkit for anyone about to buy a used boat they found online, from a jon boat to a cruiser.
It has four parts: the HIN Check, which reads a hull identification number by the Coast Guard's format rule; the Dockside Walkthrough, a checklist built for your kind of boat that you mark at the dock; Red flags in online listings; and a private Boat Notebook that keeps each boat you look at.
What it is not
- Not a marketplace. It lists no boats, sells nothing but the Buyer Pass and takes no money from sellers, dealers, lenders or insurers.
- Not a survey or a history report. The walkthrough records what you saw; only an accredited marine surveyor, a mechanic and the paperwork can tell you what the boat is.
- Not the Coast Guard. HIN facts come from public federal rules; the site is not connected to any government body.
Who runs it
BoatOnline.net is made and run by WeldonPC.com, an IT company in Ohio. Its public pages carry one banner ad from AdEngine (adengine.us), WeldonPC's own small ad network, which sets no cookies; the findings sheet and the Boat Notebook carry none. See Privacy.
